As part of the 31st-annual Main Street Iowa Awards in Des Moines, Philip Platz, a volunteer on the Czech Village-New Bohemia Main Street District’s promotions committee, was honored with a leadership award for his work with the district. Philip currently serves on the board of the Linn County Trails Association, as well as the Uptown District. He is also a member of Mount Mercy University’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.
The Linn County Main Street Programs Regional Partnership also received an award for Best Outstanding Partners, which includes Central City, Czech Village-New Bohemia, Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Development Group, and Uptown Marion, Main Street Districts. The award recognized the collaborative efforts of the four organizations through a joint marketing project developed through Linn County funding. The awards were presented on April 7 at the Hoyt Sherman Place near downtown Des Moines.
