“With his acoustic guitar and a batch of witty and insightful songs, Dan Bern is rapidly becoming the voice of a new generation of folk music” (NPR).
Beginning with his first Sony CD in 1997, Dan Bern has released over two dozen albums, EPs, and live recordings. His songs have appeared in countless TV shows and independent films, been featured on Amazon Prime’s cartoon series The Stinky and Dirty Show, and been covered by The Who’s Roger Daltrey. His long-time collaboration with Judd Apatow resulted in his writing the songs for the films Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story and Get Him to the Greek. He also scored the 2012 documentary Everett Ruess: Wilderness Song.
A Mount Vernon native now based in Northern California, Bern is also an author and artist, whose paintings been exhibited at CSPS. Whether fronting his various bands, or as a solo performer, he is convincing, funny and timely, giving an unassuming tip of the hat to the spirits of the past greats, while always sounding fresh and original. His most recent releases include Hoody, Adderal Holiday, and a children’s album, Three Feet Tall. His current projects include new recordings with his much loved band, The International Jewish Banking Conspiracy.
