Our NEXT District Meet Up in November 18th at 8:30am. The location will be Fong’s Pizza in New Bohemia and the Topic will be Snow Removal in the DISTRICT

Topics discussed with Rob Hogg included:

  • Interest in bringing back the Czech Village Roundhouse to serve as a community center for this area as well as a great place for farmer’s markets, and buying fresh produce and products.
  • The Area Action Plan for the DISTRICT — including local housing, a boutique hotel, destination playground and green space.
  • A trolley that would loop Downtown, New Bohemia, Czech Village and Kingston Village. This would improve transportation, usage and access between the core neighborhoods of Cedar Rapids.
Considering projects that neighborhood organizations are interested in, Rob suggested taking action first and then advocating with state legislators.
