1 Million Cups Cedar Rapids @ Olympic Southside Theater
Dec 1 @ 9:00 am
1 Million Cups Cedar Rapids @ Olympic Southside Theater

1 Million Cups Cedar Rapids (1MC) is a free weekly program to educate, engage and connect local entrepreneurs and community members.

Developed by the Kauffman Foundation, 1 Million Cups (1MC) is based on the notion that entrepreneurs discover solutions and network over a million cups of coffee. Early-stage businesses and established companies facing interesting challenges are welcome to present their companies to a panel of experts for advice and engage the audience in a question-and-answer session to encourage collaborative and honest conversations. We also feature expert speakers, founder fireside interviews, and exploration of business failures and the shared learning that comes from those failures.

The Cedar Rapids chapter was the sixth in the U.S. and takes place almost every Wednesday. Every event is free, and everyone is welcome and invited to attend!

Join us Wednesdays @ 9 a.m. at The Olympic Theater South Side (1202 3rd St SE #200, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401)! Each event will involve a presentation or conversation with a new founder, entrepreneur, business leader, subject matter expert, or creative. A list of upcoming events and presenters can be found on our Events Calendar.

Yoga with Shawn @ Studio at Illuminations
Dec 3 @ 8:00 am – 9:00 am
Yoga with Shawn @ Studio at Illuminations
There are many layers to yoga and no matter the depth of your personal practice there are enormous benefits to be had.
I’ve been practicing yoga since the late 90’s in varying forms and styles. As someone with a history of complex trauma yoga has been a stabilizing and grounding practice that has proven to be a lifeline through my personal journey. At some point yoga became much deeper than just an avenue to strengthen the body and regulate emotions, it became a framework for how to live my life and eventually became the foundation of my being. The depression, anxiety and fear haven’t gone away, they are now just pieces of a much bigger picture and pieces of a much more fulfilling life. By guiding classes I hope to help others feel stronger and more flexible in the body while offering opportunities for deeper insights.
Classes are based on the 8 limbs of yoga and taught to all levels of experience, challenging enough for the seasoned yogi yet accessible to the beginner while offering some real food for thought.
Masks will be required unless otherwise indicated by the instructor.
Class will be held at the Studio at Illuminations, Ste 112 in the Cherry Building.
Drop-in Cost: $15. Discount packages are available.
